The Old Fashioned Christmas Parade committee will select up to 100
entries for the parade.
Selections will be based upon the quality of the entry, as described in the
entrant's application.
To ensure the highest quality parade, please submit a photo of your entry
with your application form. (If you are a return entry, are entering the
same rig as last year and have previously sub-mitted a photo, please note
that on your application. You need not send another photo.)
Horse-drawn vehicles only with a limited number of outriders. In keeping
with the parade theme (old-fashioned holiday), all outriders must be
dressed in costume to match the entry.
Only authentic and/or high-wheel type horse drawn entries will be
considered (no balloon tires or pneumatic-wheeled vehicles).
Entries should be decorated for the holidays, where appropriate.
Riding group entries will be limited. Only applicants that have at least six
(6) riders in the group and that have a unique appeal will be considered
for entry. Groups with fewer than six(6) Riders on parade day will not be
allowed to participate.
All entrants must begin and end the parade at the Douglas County
Fairgrounds. This rule has been established in cooperation with local law
enforcement to help ensure the safest possible environment for the
parade. There will be no exceptions.
Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times.
Nothing may be thrown or handed out from entries during the Parade
All horses in the parade must be pulling a vehicle or be ridden (no walkers
leading horses).
